Tom Holland & Jon Bernthal Did Audition Tapes Together For ‘Spider-Man’ & ‘Punisher’

2 min read

Punisher Spider-ManNow here are some audition tapes that we’d love to see. While working on the film Pilgrimage in Ireland, Jon Bernthal and Tom Holland found themselves doing audition tapes for Marvel for very different yet hugely connected (in the comics at least) roles. Bernthal won the role of the Punisher, which will be seen next week with Daredevil season to coming out, while Tom Holland went through an intense process to nag the new Spider-Man role that will make its debut in Captain America: Civil War in May.

Bernthal revealed that the two of them had a lot of fun together working on Pilgrimage and their time together on this had them working on audition tapes together where they actually do interact with each other. This is the kind of material we rarely see for a variety of reasons but hopefully it can find its way out there in some form.

“We were making tapes from Ireland in the process of getting him cast in Spider-Man and then he and I made a tape for The Punisher,” the actor explains. “During this independent movie that we did in Ireland we were constantly making tapes for Marvel — just acting together. These tapes definitely do exist, you can call Marvel and ask for it, but that’s like breaking into Fort Knox.”

Now to hope for them to crossover in some form on the big and small screen. Tom Holland as Spidey in Daredevil, even for a one-off episode, would be powerful.
