We learned back in the summer of 2015 that Penny Dreadful would be getting a third season and we’re getting deliciously close to its premiere. Scheduled for a debut on May 1st, 2016 at 10 pm, Showtime has now brought out their latest teaser for the show and it looks like they’re just upping everything even more in a way that has me even more excited than before. The third season is set for a nine-episode order that is once again written by John Logan and will include the return of Pattie Lupone – as a new character – and the addition of Shazad Latif as Dr. Henry Jekyll.

Dorian Gray, Victor Frankenstein and timeless figures from Dracula join a core of original characters in a dark and brutal quest to save a soul — even as they grapple with their own monstrous temptations.
