First ‘Wrath Of The Titans’ Trailer Debuts

2 min read

March 2012 has another big feature hitting earlier than they usually do in an effort to drum up some box office gold that might be harder to come by in the direct summer season. The sequel to Clash of the Titans debuts and the first trailer for it has arrived, complete with a somewhat surprising and not altogether appropriate song choice for it. The first feature, a remake of the 80’s campy movie, was made for $125 million but brought in just under $500 million in worldwide box office receipts, making a sequel a no-brainer. But will people flock to it after being exposed once?

Sam Worthington as Perseus
Ralph Fiennes as Hades
Liam Neeson as Zeus
Danny Huston as Poseidon
Édgar Ramírez as Ares
Bill Nighy as Hephaestus
Toby Kebbell as Agenor
Rosamund Pike as Andromeda

Plot concept: A decade after his heroic defeat of the monstrous Kraken, Perseus is attempting to live a quieter life as a village fisherman and the sole parent to his 10-year-old son, Helius. Meanwhile, a struggle for supremacy rages between the gods and the Titans. Dangerously weakened by humanity’s lack of devotion, the gods are losing control of the imprisoned Titans and their ferocious leader, Kronos, father of the long-ruling brothers Zeus, Hades, and Poseidon. The triumvirate had overthrown their powerful father long ago, leaving him to rot in the gloomy abyss of Tartarus, a dungeon that lies deep within the cavernous underworld.
