TFP’s Anime List Project #4: Favorite Summer VA Performances

2 min read

Every week, the Fandom Post community suggests and votes on a new Top 5 list about something in anime, most often from the current season. It’s our way of highlighting something fun or interesting or strange—or even meaningful—about what’s airing now, or about anime in general.

The Summer anime season is ready to be put to rest, list-wise, with one final look back at a key component: seiyuu! It’s the Top 5 Favorite Voice Actor Performances of Summer 2015. From 18 actors (12 women, 6 men) in 17 shows, we had 22 nominated performances to choose from and managed to narrow it down to…well, five different actors but six performances. (The second week in a row with a tie for fifth place.)

As a bonus, we managed to reach the winners for their reactions:

•••

#5 (tie): Yui Horie as Miss Monochrome (Miss Monochrome 2)

Miss Monochrome 2 Episode 1

“Thank you for this award. I will celebrate by signing 1 million autographs.”

“Just kidding.”

#5 (tie): Ayane Sakura as Nao Tomori (Charlotte)

“5th place? Obviously I should be first. Or at least second.”

#4: Aimi Tananka as Umaru Doma (Himouto Umaruchan)

“Heh. Ah, heh, heh, heh. Hehhhh….”

#3: Miyu Matsuki as Anna Nishikinomiya (Shimoneta)

“I do not know how to interpret what I am feeling because of this.! It must be pure and innocent humility and gratefulness to feel such rage in not being #1!”

#2: Ayane Sakura as Natsumi Koshigaya (Non Non Biyori Repeat)

“I’m a genius, right? How else do you win two times? Now how to leverage this into my next job…”

#1: Ari Ozawa as Wakaba Kohashi (Wakaba Girl)

Wakaba Girl Episode 13

“I feel like a real high school girl! Ice cream for everyone!”
