While the big news of course was bringing back David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson among others, the interesting part of the upcoming X-Files event series is seeing who wasn’t in it before that will be making appearances. The series was hugely influential to a number of actors and the desire to be a part of the project will certainly be there. The first new addition to the six episode series is that of Joel McHale, who will have a guest role on the show when it debuts next year. He’ll play Tad O’Malley, the anchor of a popular conservative Internet news network who becomes an unlikely ally for Fox Mulder.
January 24th, 2016 after the NFC Championship game that Sunday night. The show is going into production in June for the event and will wrap up fairly quickly overall considering its length in comparison to other series.
