Madman Entertainment Announce Nine Anime Acquisitions At Gold Coast Supernova

With the first round of the convention season now complete, Madman Entertainment have announced the Australian rights to 9 new titles. The company made the announcements at the Supernova Pop Culture Expo at Gold Coast, Queensland. Madman have now confirmed that they’ll be handling The Pet Girl of Sakurasou and The World God Only Knows Season 3 which are currently have a tentative release set for this July. Alongside those titles they have announced the rights to Haikyu!!, Hozuki no Reitetsu, Golden Time, So I Can Play H, The “Hentai” Prince and the Stony Cat, Sunday Without God and Magical Warfare.

The current release dates, and formats are yet to be determined.

Haikyu!! Plot Concept: Based off of the original Weekly Shonen Jump manga series from Haruichi Furudate, Haikyu!! is a slice-of-life sports anime revolving around Shoyo Hinata’s love of volleyball. Inspired by a small-statured pro volleyball player, Hinata creates a volleyball team in his last year of middle school. Unfortunately the team is matched up against the “King of the Court” Tobio Kageyama’s team in their first tournament and inevitably lose. After the crushing defeat, Hinata vows to surpass Kageyama After entering high school, Hinata joins the volleyball team only to find that Tobio has also joined.

Hozuki no Reitetsu Plot Concept: Hozuki is the aide to the Great King Enma. Calm and super-sadistic, Hozuki tries to resolve the various problems in Hell, including a rampaging Momotaro and his companions. However, he also likes spending his free time on his hobbies, such as fawning over cute animals and raising ‘Goldfish Flowers.’

Golden Time Plot Concept: Banri Tada is a newly admitted student at a private law school in Tokyo. However, due to an accident, he lost all of his memories. During his freshman orientation, he encounters another freshman from the same school, Mitsuo Yanagisawa, and they hit it off at once. Without any memory of each other, their lives become more and more intertwined as if set by the hands of fate. But what is their fate, and will it lead to happiness or another memory to forget…

The “Hentai” Prince and the Stony Cat Plot Concept: It is said that a stony cat standing in a hill can make our dream come true. Asking for their wishes, the protagonists come to a hill and ask for their wishes to the cat. Then, for some reason or other, a high school boy loses the face he wears in public and his nickname becomes a pervert prince. A cute girl is deprived of her true feelings… The cat makes mischief to their relationship better and worse. What will become of them?

Sunday Without God Plot Concept: God abandoned the world on Sunday. As a result, nobody in the world can die or have kids. A little girl – Ai – is the grave keeper for the village and is tasked with helping the would-be dead try and find peace. However, one day a boy who identifies himself as Hampnie Hambart – the Man-eating Toy – appears in the village killing everybody and disturbing the balance of things. Upon their first encounter both Ai and Hampnie come to realize shocking truth…

Magical Warfare Plot Concept: In this modern magic action story, Takeshi Nanase is an ordinary high school boy who has a somewhat dark past. However, one day, he comes across a girl named Mui Aiba, in a uniform he has never seen before, collapsed on the school campus. This encounters changes Takeshi’s destiny completely. Mui tells Takeshi that she is a magician, and she apologizes, for she turned Takeshi into a magician, too. What Takeshi once knew as one world is actually two — the world where magicians live and the world where humans live.
