What They Say
A BLADE FROM FAR AWAY

Former Claymores Cassandra and Priscilla appear to be headed toward an epic conflict, as the warriors protecting the Holy City of Rabona attempt to orchestrate a battle between these two savage elements in order to avert complete annihilation. However, when Clare and Raki step in, the Awakened Ones’ fury is redirected toward them!

Content: (please note that content portions of a review may contain spoilers):
And now there is one. After a massive amount of carnage, the only forces still standing are Abyssal One Cassandra, two Awakened Beings, seven Claymores and the wickedly strong Priscilla. Oh, and Raki is still alive too. In fact, Raki has lost his freaking mind as he takes on Priscilla in a one-on-one sword fight. Yes, you read that correctly.

Raki is probably the toughest human in this land. Not only did he spend time living with Clare, but he spent years living with both Priscilla and Isley. Thanks to Isley’s sword tutelage and the fact that Priscilla is fighting Raki as a human, he is actually holding his own against her! But none of should be surprised when Priscilla grows board and turns on her Awakened Being powers and strikes Raki down. Although, I was surprised that the other Claymores didn’t reach him in time.

Raki’s downfall may be the trigger that Clare needed to loose her greatest power against Priscilla. This introduces a surprising bit of inner dialogue and reflection on Clare’s part. How her life changed because of Raki and her time spent with the other Claymore Rebels. It serves as a nice reprieve in the middle of such an action-packed volume.

While it is unlikely that anyone could defeat a healthy Priscilla, she is still recovering from her earlier battles with the Abyssal Ones where she sustained considerable damage. Now the question becomes, can all the remaining combatants defeat Priscilla if they join forces?

Things are looking too great. Remember, Priscilla can sense Yoma energy and counter 99% of all attacks thrown at her. Can someone not only land that 1% hit but make it count?

In Summary
Wow, nothing but nonstop badassery in these last few volumes. The Organization is completely toast, the young Claymores have been freed, most of the Abyssal Ones and Awakened Beings are dead, and everyone left alive is fighting a losing battle with Priscilla. It is pretty mind boggling that any one creature can have as much power as Priscilla wields. Through twists and turns in this volume, combatants fall, battle plans fail, and the final pages show a two-panel depiction of another shocking surprise.
