Every week seems to have someone new in talks to take over directing the sequel to Thor since Kenneth Branagh backed out while still holding a producing role on it. The latest has Patty Jenkins of the film Monster being talked about as being in talks and she’s certainly an interesting choice, especially considering her work on the pilot for the TV series The Killing. That said, nothing’s official until Marvel Studios says it so it’s just more speculation.
Which is why hearing from Kevin Feige of Marvel Studios in an interview talk about the general idea for what the sequel itself will be like, something we haven’t heard too much about yet though plenty of speculation.
“[Thor 2 will] primarily be the journey of that character, of he and Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) and how the new dynamic with his father is working out, as well as what are the broader stakes for The Nine Worlds.”
