You can’t keep the cute boys down as the Cute High Earth Defense Club LOVE! LOVE! LOVE! franchise is getting some new material. The 2018 anime series has been quiet for the most part for years and we learned earlier this summer that a new film is coming out in winter 2025 in Japan with the subtitle of Eternal Love! The project tells a story about what happens after the series so far, but also looks to include material from the series as well.
With the film making its January 24th, 2025, debut, Pony Canyon previously set the home video release plans. The film was set for a May 28th, 2025, release with the DVD priced at 7,000 yen and the Blu-ray at 8,000 yen. With it out recently, we now have a look at the larger image of the main cover for both formats below.
The film was directed by Shinji Takamatsu from the screenplay by Michiko Yokote with Studio Comet handling the production. The release comes with a special booklet and the on-disc extras include the two stage greeting sequences.
The Japanese cast includes Hiroshi Kamiya as Kinshirō Kusatsu, Jun Fukuyama as Ibushi Arima, Takuma Terashima as Akoya Gero, Hiroki Yasumoto as Thunder, Keisuke Komoto as Akihiko Beppu, Yoshiki Murakami as Haruhiko Beppu, Tomokazu Sugita as Gora Hakone, Hiroki Yasumoto as Dada Cha, Naoyuki Shimozuru as Kyōtarō Shuzenji, Ryōga Komata as Ryōma Kirishima, Takahide Ishii as Nanao Wakura, Rikuya Yasuda as Taishi Manza, Shouta Hayama as Ichiro Dōgo, Takuya Eguchi as Karurusu, Kappei Yamaguchi as Aye-aye, and Jūrōta Kosugi as Deathamor.
The first season TV series was directed by Shinji Takamatsu while Chizuru Miyawaki assisted and they worked off of the series composition done by Michiko Yokote. Masakazu Ishikawa handled the character designs and the series was produced at studio Diomedea.
Property Concept: Binan is a city somewhere in Japan. The “Earth Defense Club” at Binan High School was a club that did absolutely nothing. When club members Atsushi Kinugawa and En Yufuin were chilling out while soaking in the hot tub at the bathhouse Kurotamayu, a pink beast (Wombat) suddenly appeared out of thin air. “I want to save this planet… can you please lend me your strength?” The two feel the mood has been ruined by Wombat, who talks to them in Japanese about how he wants to save Earth with the power of love. Just then, the son of the bathhouse owner Yumoto Hakone shows up, and as soon as he sees Wombat, he chases it, screaming “Let me fluff you up!”
The next day, Kinugawa and Yufuin are caught by Wombat once again at school along with the other club members Io Naruko and Ryu Zaou. Bracelets clasp onto the wrists of these four, along with Yumoto Hakone, who bumped into them after chasing after Wombat, with a command that they must save the Earth. “It’s about love-making!” they hear as a bright light emanating from the bracelet envelops their entire bodies. The five transform into the “Battle Lovers,” the heirs to the throne of love…
