A new anime adaptation was announced previously as in the works with the manga Mono from creator Afro of Laid-Back Camp in the works. The production was announced in March 2024 with the adaptation bringing on Ryota Aikei to direct it from the series composition by Yoko Yonaiyama. Takuya Miyahara is handling the character designs, with animation production done at Soigne.
With an April 12th, 2025, premiere date having come and gone, the production has now brought out its first preview of the ninth episode, due out on June 7th, 2025.
The Japanese cast includes:
- Haruna Mikawa as Satsuki Amamiya
- Aoi Koga as An Kiriyama
- Hikaru Tono as Sakurako Shikishima
- Reina Ueda as Haruno Akiyama
- Maki Kawase as Kako Komada
The series features the ending theme song “Weekend Roll” by halca.
The manga from Afro began in 2017 as serialized in Manga Time Kirara Carat for Houbunsha and has three volumes released so far with it listed as ongoing.
