‘Our Last Crusade or the Rise of a New World’ 2nd Anime Season Previews 9th Episode

The fall 2020 anime adaptation of the light novel series Our Last Crusade or the Rise of a New World, also known as Kimi to Boku no Saigo no Senjō, Arui wa Sekai ga Hajimaru Seisen, is getting some new expansion in distribution. While the series wrapped up previously for its streaming, we learned in October 2021 that a second season was coming.

While originally planned for a 2023 debut and confirmed that Crunchyroll would be simulcasting it, the show was shifted to a 2024 premiere. But that was just the start of the troubles as the series saw a July 10th, 2024, premiere, and after just four episodes, they ended up postponing episodes and rebroadcasting the first season. The second season restart was set for an April 10th, 2025, premiere date, and now the first preview for the ninth episode has arrived ahead of its June 5th, 2025, debut.

The opening comes from AliA with “Senaka Awase” while the ending theme song is from Sizuk performing “Para Bellum” for it.

The staff for the second season changed things up with Yuki Inaba directing it from the series composition that Studio Palette is handling along with the animation. Kaori Yoshikawa is handling the character designs.

The first season was directed by Shin Oonuma and Mirai Minato and based on the series composition by Kento Shimoyama. Kaori Sato worked on the character designs while serving as the chief animation director with production handled by Silver Link.

The Japanese cast includes Yūsuke Kobayashi as Iska, Sora Amamiya as Aliceliese Lou Nebulis IX, Kaori Ishihara as Nene Alkastone, Nao Shiraki as Mismis Klass, Shunichi Toki as Jhin Syulargun, Yumiri Hanamori as Rin Vispose, Ayana Taketatsu as Risya In Empire, Jun Kasama as “Nameless”, Azumi Waki as Sisbell Lou Nebulis IX, and Aya Hisakawa as Millavair Lou Nebulis VIII”. Second-season cast additions include Shō Hayami as Magnacasa Gunfight, Tomokazu Sugita as Sir Karosos Newton, Kazuyuki Okitsu as Garganly Takehito Koyasu as Glory, Ryōtarō Okiayu as Talisman, and Rie Takahashi as Vichyssoise Alek Hydra.

The English dub has Shawn Gann directing from the adaptation by Jared Smith. The English cast includes Emily Neves as Aliceliese Lou Nebulis IX, Ernesto Jason Liebrecht as Iska, Alejandro Saab as Jhin Syulargun, Anairis Quiñones as Elletear Lou Nebulis IX, Anastasia Munoz as Millavair Lou Nebulis VIII, Emi Lo as Sisbell Lou Nebulis IX, Hayden Daviau as Rin Vispose, Kellen Goff as On Zoa Nebulis / Masked Lord, Lindsay Seidel as Mismis Klass, Sarah Roach as Nene Alkastone, and Ben Phillips as Schwartz.

The series comes from writer Kei Sazane and illustrator Ao Nekonabe which began in 2017 and has seven volumes out so far. A manga adaptation kicked off in 2018 with Okama handling that as serialized in Young Animal magazine. Yen Press is releasing both in English in North America.

The opening theme song is “Against” by Kaori Ishihara while the ending theme song is “Koori no Torikago” by Aliceliese Lou Nebulix IX.
