The To Be Hero & To Be Heroine anime was a project that did pretty well overall, and while it took forever to get a home video release, it took a bit longer to get more. We learned in summer 2024 that a new project is coming with To Be Hero X, and Crunchyroll would be bringing it out. Li Haolin returns to direct it with BeDream to handle the animation production.
The show saw an April 5th, 2025, debut. Crunchyroll revealed plans for a same-day English dub release alongside the simulcast itself. Now, a new clip from the eighth episode has arrived. Poor Cyan gets mistreated as a kid…
The opening theme song is “INERTIA” by SawanoHiroyuki[nZk]:Rei while the ending theme song is “KONTINUUM” by SennaRin.

Original concept: Ossan is a handsome yet undisciplined man and a divorced father who has a job as a toilet seat designer. He lives with his daughter Min-chan, who excels in both academics and sports. One day, while on the toilet, Ossan is sucked into it and becomes a hero charged with protecting the world. In exchange, he transforms from his handsome form into a chubby appearance. Ossan’s fight to save the world and protect Min-chan begins.
