A new anime adaptation was announced in March 2024, with the light novel series The Brilliant Healer’s New Life in the Shadows getting the nod. With plans for an April 2025 debut, the series is directed by Joe Yoshizaki from the scripts by Hiroto Miyagi. Yoshihiro Sawada is handling the character designs, with Makaria handling the animation production.
The show saw an April 3rd, 2025, debut, and the latest update on the property has come in with the first preview of the tenth episode ahead of its June 5th, 2025, release.

The opening song “Light Maker” is performed by bokula, while the ending theme song is “Tsuki ni Negau” performed by sorato.
Known originally as Isshun de Chiryou Shiteita no ni Yakudatazu to Tsuihousareta Tensai Chiyushi, Yami Healer to shite Tanoshiku Ikiru, the light novels come from writer Sakaku Hishikawa which began in 2020 and has five volumes so far. The manga from Ichiten Juuno began in 2022 as serialized in GA Comic for SB Creative and has three volumes out so far with it ongoing.

Plot Concept: Born a poor man in the slums, Zenos never had opportunities in life, so he decides to forge his own opportunities by teaching himself the curative arts after a chance encounter with a healer. When an adventuring party led by a man named Aston extends him an invitation, Zenos is elated—only to then be treated like dirt by his teammates. Despite Zenos’s diligent efforts to hone his skills to nothing short of perfection, the party deems him useless and kicks him out. Bereft of money and options, Zenos starts an illegal clinic and becomes a shadow healer. Word of his healing genius spreads quickly throughout the city’s underbelly, and as his reputation grows among the dregs of society, knowledge of Zenos’s esteem reaches the wrong ears…
