Avex Pictures Reveals 3rd ‘Sakamoto Days’ Anime Blu-ray Release Artwork

Viz Media brought out the first volume of Sakamoto Days on April 5th, 2022, in print form after bringing it out in Shonen Jump previously. The series from Yuto Suzuki began in the fall of 2020, as serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump in Japan and it has sixteen volumes to its name and is still ongoing with Viz Media bringing eleven volumes out so far.

Masaki Watanabe directed it from the scripts overseen by Taku Kishimoto. Yo Moriyama is serving as the character designer with TMS Entertainment handling the production.

The anime saw a January 11th, 2025, debut for the first cour, while the second will arrive in July 2025. Avex Pictures is handling the home video releases in Japan, and they’ve set a three-volume release for the first cour of eleven episodes. It’ll be spread in a 3/4/4 format with the first priced at 7,790 yen and the other two at 10,940 yen.

The Japanese cast includes Tomokazu Sugita as Taro Sakamoto, Ayane Sakura as Lu Shaotang, Hina Kino as Hana Sakamoto, Miyari Nemoto as Piisuke, Nao Tōyama as Aoi Sakamoto, Nobunaga Shimazaki as Shin Asakura, Ryōta Suzuki as Heisuke Mashimo, Natsuki Hanae as Nagumo, Taku Yashiro as Shishiba, Saori Hayami as Osaragi, Hiroki Yasumoto as Hyo, Hōchū Ōtsuka as Takamura, and Daisuke Namikawa.

The English dub cast includes Matthew Mercer as Taro Sakamoto, Dallas Liu as Shin Asakura, Rosalie Chiang as Lu Shaotang, Rosie Okumura as Aoi Sakamoto, Xolo Maridueña as Heisuke Mashimo, Aleks Le as Nagumo, Lexi Cabrera (Alexa Bliss) as Obiguro, SungWon Cho as Boiled, Du-Shaunt “Fik-Shun” Stegall as Son Hee, and Toru Uchikado as Bacho.

Plot Concept: Time has passed peacefully for Sakamoto since he left the underworld. He’s running a neighborhood store with his lovely wife and child and has gotten a bit…out of shape.
