After premiering in the summer of 1975, 2015 marked the 40th anniversary of Space Knight Tekkaman, and King Records celebrated with fans from back then. In 2015, the company put together the new release from the 16mm negatives and is bringing out the full twenty-six episode run in one box set on May 27th, 2015. It was priced at 35,000 yen.
Now, ten years later, we’re getting ready to celebrate the 50th anniversary with a new Blu-ray release that’s spread across two discs instead of four as we saw before. The set is scheduled for an August 29th, 2025, street date priced at 28,000 yen.
On-disc extras include the initial previews for the show and the clean theme songs.
Plot concept: Tekkaman is just an average bright boy in his everyday life. However, modern science can turn him into a mighty space warrior. This becomes a reality when aggressive aliens come from space to invade our planet. Armed with a space lance, Tekkaman gallantly goes into action against the grotesque space creatures. During his battles, he encounters a mysterious young man from another planet who helps him out whenever he is in danger.
