An anime adaptation was teased in June 2024 with the Mattaku Saikin no Tantei to Kitara manga, which in turn was announced in August 2024. The series has Rion Kujo directing it from the series composition by Rintaro Ikeda. Isoroku Koga is handling the character designs and serving as the chief animation director with LIDEN Films on the animation production.
The series was recently set for a July 2025 debut, and has now brought out a new promotional video focusing on Fū-chan as played by Misaki Watada.

The manga from creator Masakuni Igarashi began in 2016 as serialized in Dengeki Maoh for ASCII Media Works. The series has fifteen volumes released so far and is listed as ongoing.

Plot Concept: Nagumo Keeichirou was a genius high-school detective. No case was complex enough for him. But what happens to genius detectives when they get older? Now 35, with bad hips, running a failing detective agency with no cases to solve, and struggling to pay the rent, he’s at a dead end. A high school girl comes into his office and says she wants to work with him. With her help, will the out-of-touch, old-fashioned Nagumo get back the fire of his youth?
