The novel series Shoshimin was on track to move beyond manga adaptations of the work, as an anime adaptation saw a July 2024 release. The adaptation, which translates as How to Become Ordinary, was set to work with a pair of stories from the property, with The Case of the Springtime Limited-Edition Strawberry Tart and The Case of the Summertime Limited-Edition Tropical Parfait. The novel series from Honobu Yonezawa began in 2004 and has four volumes, with it ongoing.
With a July 6th, 2024 premiere date, the wrapped up its season with the tenth episode with the nod that a second season is in the works with it planned for a spring 2025 debut as it focuses on the two-part story from the third volume and the story from the fifth volume with “The Autumn-Exclusive Kuri Kinton Case” and “The Winter-Exclusive Chocolate Bonbons Case.”
With an April 5th, 2025, debut, the production has now revealed the first promo for the fifth episode ahead of its May 3rd, 2025, premiere.
Mamoru Kanbe is directing it from the scripts overseen by Yoshiya Ono. Atsushi Saito is handling the character designs with studio Lapin Track handling the animation production.
The Japanese cast includes:

The new season will feature the opening theme song “Kaseijin” as performed by yorushika while the ending theme song is “SugaRiddle” performed by Nagi Yanagi.

Plot Concept: The focus is on Jōgorō Kobato, who wishes to live a quiet and ordinary life after a painful experience. He and Yuki Osanai form a “mutually beneficial relationship” as Yuki also wants the same thing. They start high school as classmates with a plan to spend their peaceful days as ordinary people, but unfortunately, they keep getting wrapped up in mysteries and disasters as they happen one after another.
