It’s a good time for fans of the 1973 anime Dororon Enma-kun, as it’s finally getting a Blu-ray release. Toei has now scheduled a June 27th, 2025 release where the twenty-five-episode series will be spread across two discs priced at 28,000 yen. The set will come with a 28-page booklet, while the on-disc extra is a promo spot for the final episode.

The series saw Kimio Yabuki as the chief director working from the original manga by Go Nagai. Takeshi Shirato handled the character designs with Toei Animation on the production.

The Japanese cast includes Masako Nozawa, Junpei Takiguchi, Sumie Sakai, Kaneta Kimotsuki, Takuzo Kamiyama, Akira Shimada, Takako Kondo, Reiko Katsura, Kunihiko Kitagawa, Hidekatsu Shibata, and others.

Plot Concept: The recent chaos in the human world seems to be due to delinquent monsters who escaped from Hell and are causing strange incidents as they please. After racking his brains, King Enma chooses his nephew Enma-kun to take on the task of patrolling the monsters. Enma-kun comes to the human world in high spirits, accompanied by Chapo, who has a wealth of knowledge and experience, Princess Yukiko, the daughter of the prestigious Yuki-onna family, and Kapaeru, who is good at gathering information. The human world is currently headed by a senior, Darakula, but he is lazy and does not do his job properly, and instead encourages the delinquent monsters he is supposed to crack down on, taking a cut of the profits. After firing Darakula, Enma-kun and his comrades face the strange incidents that occur one after another and carry out their mission of patrolling the monsters.
