One of the best ways to close out the year last year was to learn about a new original anime announced last December, with Hibi wa Sugiredo Meshi Umashi: Food for the Soul. The property brought back the Non Non Biyori staff with a work that the original manga creator Atto is involved with, by handling the concept and character designs. The series has Shinya Kawatsura and Yu Harumi co-directing the series, with Yoshihiro Hiki overseeing the scripts. Hajime Mitsuda has adapted Atto’s character designs with P.A. Works on the animation production.

With an April 12th, 2025, premiere date, Crunchyroll has now added the clean versions of the theme songs to their channel.

The Japanese cast includes:

  • Ai Kakuma as Kurea Furudate
  • Hana Shimano as Mako Kawai
  • Natsune Inui as Tsutsuji Higa
  • Saya Aizawa as Nana Hoshi
  • Yoshino Aoyama as Shinon Ogawa
  • Azuki Moeno as Mokotarō
