The Mecha-Ude anime project got some attention during Anime Expo 2023 and got a lot of details in order before the end of the year with it being scheduled for a 2024 debut. Earlier this year, the project revealed its plans for an October 2024 premiere and Crunchyroll revealed its pickup of the show at Japan Expo where it’ll arrive as part of the fall season as Mechanical Arms and will have episodes available to subscribers in North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, and CIS.
Making an October 3rd, 2024 premiere date, the production previously set its home video releases through Ponyt Canyon. The twelve-episode show is being done as a four-volume release with three episodes per set. It’ll be on Blu-ray only and priced at 9,000 yen per set.

Sae Okamoto’s original work has them directing it at TriF Studio with Yasuhiro Nakanishi overseeing the scripts. Yoko Uchida and Terumi Nishi are on board for the character designs.
The Japanese cast includes Toshiyuki Toyonaga as Hikaru, Tomokazu Sugita as Alma, Yu Shimamura as Aki, Romi Park as Kagami, Yūichi Nakamura as Fist, Aoi Yuki as Fubuki, and Yōko Hikasa as Amaryllis.
The season features the opening theme song “VORTEX” and the ending theme song “karma” which are both performed by Setsuko.

Plot Concept: One day, Amatsuga Hikaru, a junior high school student living in Kitakagami City, meets the mysterious “Ude”-shaped mechanical life form Alma. Alma attempts to bind to Hikaru’s body in order to obtain energy from him, but fails. To his surprise, it binds to the hoodie that Hikaru was wearing. Meanwhile, the “Kagami Group,” a large corporation that plans to enslave the Mecha-Udes and turn them into weapons, is in pursuit of Alma. ARMS, an organization working to save and free the Mecha-Udes, also searches for Alma. Hikaru, unable to abandon the weakened Alma, puts on the hoodie that Alma has bonded with and gets caught up in the great events unfolding among the Mecha-Ude users……
