The anime adaptation of the light novel series Even Given the Worthless “Appraiser” Class, I’m Actually the Strongest was announced in June 2024. The series saw Kenta Onishi directing it from the series composition by Yoko Machida. Sayuri Sakimoto is handling the character designs for it with studio Okuruto Noboru handling the animation production. The project was announced for a January 2025 debut back in June.

The show made its debut on January 9th, 2025, and now, it looks like things are about to draw to a close for the manga adaptation of the light novels. The property has now set plans for the next installment due out on April 9th, 2025, which will be the final one of the series with a final volume to be solicited later.

The Japanese cast includes:

  • Hikaru Tohno as Yūri
  • Kikunosuke Toya as Ein
  • Sayumi Suzushiro as Ursula
  • Yū Serizawa as Pina
  • Minami Tsuda as Kurohime
  • Kana Ichinose as Alice
  • Aimi as Akabane
  • Taeko Otsuka as Jasper
  • Daisuke Namikawa as Zoid
  • Kana Hanazawa as Echidna

The series features the opening theme song “Crescendo” by ASTERISM and the group 22/7 performing “Rock wa Shinanai” as the ending theme song to the show.

The light novel series is known originally as Fuguushoku [Kanteishi] ga Jitsu wa Saikyou Datta – Naraku de Kitaeta Saikyou no [Shingan] de Musou Suru and comes from author Ibarakino. It has a manga adaptation by Morohoshi Fuji as well. Kodansha Comics releases the manga in English.

Plot Concept: In a fantasy world where “jobs” are god-given from birth, heroes are born, not made…and Ein’s job of “Appraiser” has put him about as far from the “hero” pedestal as possible. Used, abused, and eventually abandoned by his fellow adventurers, Ein decides it just isn’t worth going on… Lucky for Ein, though, the end may just be the beginning…and a new lease on life. Turns out, his “worthless” job may just be the key to becoming a hero after all…
