The Shugo Chara! manga began way back in 2006 and had twelve volumes to its name and a four-cour anime series as well in 2007. There were a couple of sequel anime works as well while the manga side saw a light touch done with an anniversary for creators Peach-Pit themselves back in 2001. But largely, it’s been quite some time since this property has had much attention to it while they worked on other projects.
We learned back in October 2024 that it was looking like the property is coming back as a sequel manga that saw a summer 2024 launch in Nakayoshi magazine. It launched with an August 2nd, 2024 debut in the 9/2024 installment of Nakayoshi as Shugo Chara! Jewel Joker.
With the first volume out back on February 13th, 2025 release in Japan (see the normal and special covers below), the property has nabbed the upcoming 5/2025 cover of Nakayoshi with some great new artwork below.

A cool and spicy girl, Hinamori Amu, has been protecting the Heart Eggs with the Guardians of Seiya Academy Elementary School and the “Shugo Chara” that she wants to be, even as she becomes a different version of herself. Even after becoming a junior high school student, she thought that her fun days with everyone would continue… but suddenly, she is transferred to “Arcana Academy”!? There are rumors that students’ “Heart Eggs” are being marked with “X” one after another at the school. To find out the cause, Amu and Yuise start an investigation! Furthermore, Amu has a secret mission…?
