With some good sales in the trade formats for awhile now, it looks like Peter Hogan's coming series Resident Alien is stepping to the live-action side of things.

With some good sales in the trade formats for awhile now, Peter Hogan’s comic series Resident Alien made the leap to the live-action side of things back in 2021 and it saw a second season arrive in 2022 with a third season renewal that saw a February 15th, 2024. A fourth season is in the works with it getting an expanded bit of distribution as it will also air through USA Network alongside Syfy while the previous seasons saw additional streaming through Netflix last year.

Now, a new cast member has joined with the addition of Jewel Staite. Staite has had a number of works since their time in Firefly but it’s a reunion of sorts with her former castmate in Alan Tudyk. Staite will play Jules Gardner, an FBI agent assigned to the Colorado Springs field office who also happened to go to high school with Asta, Liv, D’arcy and Ben. Jules arrives in town having been assigned a case involving a series of gruesome murders that have occurred in and around Patience according to Deadline.

Syfy brought the series previously with Alan Tudyk in the leading role. Other series regulars so far include Sara Tomko (Once Upon A Time), Corey Reynolds (The Closer), Alice Wetterlund (People of Earth), and Levi Fiehler (Mars).

Plot Concept: Based on the Dark Horse comic, Syfy’s Resident Alien is a murder mystery sci-fi dramedy that follows Harry, an alien played by Alan Tudyk (Rogue One, Firefly) that crash lands on Earth and passes himself off as a small-town human doctor. Arriving with a secret mission to kill all humans, Harry starts off living a simple life… but things get a bit rocky when he’s roped into solving a local murder and realizes he needs to assimilate into his new world. As he does so, he begins to wrestle with the moral dilemma of his mission and asking the big life questions like: “Are human beings worth saving?” and “Why do they fold their pizza before eating it?” Sara Tomko (Once Upon A Time), Corey Reynolds (The Closer), Alice Wetterlund (Silicon Valley) and Levi Fiehler (Mars) also star as the residents of Patience, Colorado.
