The fall 2018 anime adaptation of Kumo Kagyu’s property Goblin Slayer adapted the light novels and we ended up with a second season along the way as well back in the fall of 2023 – which took way too long to arrive. While the light novels are ongoing and there are various spinoff manga out there as well, there is also the core manga adaptation of the night novel series that’s underway. It sees release in English from Yen Press and now the manga is getting new attention in Japan as it’s scored the cover spot for the 3/2025 installment of Big Gangan magazine where it’s serialized.
The first season of the series was directed by Takaharu Ozaki and based on the series composition by Hideyuki Kurata. They’re both back but Ozaki is now serving as the chief director with Misato Takada being the hands-on director. Hiromi Kato replaces Takashi Nagayoshi on the character designs while White Fox is replaced with LIDENFILMS for the animation production.

Mili performs the opening theme song “Entertainment” and Yuki Nakashima performs the ending theme song “Kasumi no Mukō e.”
The light novels from Kumo Kagyu began in 2016 with seven volumes out as of March 2018. A manga adaptation by Kosuke Kurose began in 2016 as well with Yen Press releasing both of them in North America.

Plot Concept: A young priestess has formed her first adventuring party, but almost immediately they find themselves in distress. It’s the Goblin Slayer who comes to their rescue–a man who’s dedicated his life to the extermination of all goblins, by any means necessary. And when rumors of his feats begin to circulate, there’s no telling who might come calling next…
