It was a real treat to see Perfect Blue on the big screen a couple of years ago thanks to GKIDS. The previously brought out the film with a March 26th, 2019 release as a DVD/BD Combo release. Now, a new release is set in Japan from NBC Universal Japan with a planned February 28th, 2025 release date. We’ll be getting a regular edition Blu-ray priced at 6,800 yen but the main focus is on the limited edition release that is a 4K UHD/BD combo release priced at 11,800 yen.
The deluxe edition comes with three bonus items:
- 35mm raw film frames featuring the scenes where the protagonist Mima Kirigoe appears
- Booklet (includes “Perfect Blue War Diary Extra” from Kon’s 2002 book “KON’S TONE”)
- Postcard Set
No on-disc extras are currently listed via retailers.

Pop singer Mima Kirigoe looks forward to a bright new career when she quits her chart-topping trio to become an actress. When she lands a role in a sexually charged murder mystery, Mima’s life begins to fall apart. Reality and hallucinations merge into a terrifying world where innocence is lost and dreams become nightmare.
Quickly descending into a dangerous state of paranoid delusions, Mima watches as Internet sites appear describing every intimate detail of her life. She is helpless and afraid as her associates are threatened and killed by a mysterious stalker.
