We learned at the end of December 2023 that the manga for Akuyaku Reijō Tensei Oji-san was in the works. Localized as The Middle-Aged Man that Reincarnated as a Villainess, the manga comes from Michiro Ueyama which began in 2020 as serialized in Monthly Youngking Ours GH with six volumes out as of January 2024. The project is set for a January 2025 debut and HIDIVE recently announced its pickup of the show for streaming as Bureaucrat to Villainess: Dad’s Been Reincarnated as its English language title.
The series is set with a January 9th, 2025 premiere date and the latest update is a pair of new cast additions. The show has added Yuna Kamakura as Garnet and Hochu Otsuka as the Principal.
The show has Tetsuya Takeuchi directing it from the series scripts overseen by Shingo Irei. Haruka Matsunae is handling the character designs with Ajiado handling the animation production.
The Japanese cast includes Kazuhiko Inoue as Kenzaburō Tondabayashi, M.A.O as Grace Auvergne, Akira Sekine as Anna Doll, Kaito Ishikawa as Virgile Vierge, Yuichiro Umehara as Richard Verseau, Ryota Suzuki as Auguste Lion, Takuma Nagatsuka as Pierre Gemeaux, Seiichiro Yamashita as Lambert Balance, Aoi Koga as Lucas Vierge, Akio Ōtsuka as Leopold Auvergne, Yū Sasahara as Josette, Yūki Kuwahara as Francette Mercure, Tomoyo Kurosawa as Hinako Tondabayashi, and Takako Honda and Mitsuko Tondabayashi.
The series features the opening theme song “Choose!!!” performed by Cider Gir.

Plot Concept: The story focuses on Kenzaburō Tondabayashi, a 52-year-old public servant who one day gets into a traffic accident. When he regains consciousness, he finds himself reincarnated into a fantasy world’s academy, reborn now as the haughty Grace Auvergne, daughter of a duke.
