Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Sets ‘Dune: Prophecy’ UHD/BD Combo Release

2 min read

It’s definitely a weird feeling to see not just a revival of interest in Dune but a push for it in a way that’s just kind of surreal. With the first film out and the second film all done and wrapped up, we learned back in the summer of 2019 that HBO Max had given a straight-to-series order for Dune: The Sisterhood which was later renamed to Dune: Prophecy for its six-episode run. A second season was announced at the end of the season.

The show has now set the home video release plans for it with an April 15th, 2025 date priced at $29.99 as a 4K/Blu-ray combo set. Details regarding extras and audio options and subtitles will come later for the set.

The previously announced cast includes:

  • Emily Watson
  • Olivia Williams as Tula Harkonnone
  • Jodhi May as Natalya
  • Sarah-Sofie Boussnina
  • Shalom Brune-Franklin
  • Faoileann Cunningham
  • Aoife Hinds
  • Chloe Lea
  • Mark Strong as Emperor Javicco Corrino
  • Jade Anouka as Sister Theodosia
  • Chris Mason as Keiran Atreides

The series takes place 10,000 years before the events of the film.

“The Bene Gesserit have always been fascinating to me. Focusing a series around that powerful order of women seemed not only relevant and inspiring but a dynamic setting for the television series,” Villeneuve said when the project was first announced.

Plot ConceptDune: The Sisterhood explores this universe through the eyes of a mysterious order of women: the Bene Gesserit. Given extraordinary abilities by their mastery of the body and the mind, the Bene Gesserit expertly weave through the feudal politics and intrigue of The Imperium, pursuing plans of their own that will ultimately lead them to the enigmatic planet Arrakis — known to its inhabitants as Dune.
