The sixth season of My Hero Academia wrapped up back in June 2023 and, as expected, news came at the end that there would be a seventh season. Honestly, unless the bottom drops out of the viewership and merchandising for this property, we’ll see it continue until it can bring the final manga storyline to a close. The season with new episodes proper was set with a May 4th, 2024  debut because the April episodes on the 6th, 13th, 20th, and 27th installments will be recaps of sorts looking back at the big moments but also mixing in new material to help bridge it all together.

TOHO is handling the show in Japan with its home video releases and they’ve set a three-volume release for it. The show has the DVDs priced at 12,600 yen per set while the Blu-rays are at 14,000 yen per set, both formats of which are listed as limited editions. The episode breakdown is like this:

  • Volume 1: 139 – 145, UA Heroes Battle
  • Volume 2: 146 – 152, Memories eps 1 & 2
  • Volume 3: 153 – 159, Memories eps 3 & 4

With the third set just out, we now have a look at the packing spread that will close out the season below.

The series was directed by Kenji Nagasaki and based on the series composition by Yousuke Kuroda. Yoshihiko Umakoshi is on board as the character designer and chief animation director with it being produced at BONES.

The Japanese cast includes Daiki Yamashita as Izuku, Kenta Miyake as All Might, Ayane Sakura as Ochako Uraraka, Kaito Ishikawa as Tenya Iida, Aoi Yuki as Tsuyu Asui, Ryou Hirohashi as Minoru Mineta, Marina Inoue as Momo Yaoyorozu, Yoshimasa Hosoya, Yuuki Kaji as Shoto Todoroki, Eri Kitamura as Mina Ashido, Kōsuke Kuwano as Yūga Aoyama, Kei Shindou as Kyōka Jirō, Masakazu Nishida as Mezō Shōji, Saki Ogasawara as Itsuka Kendou, Kouji Okino as Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu, Azu Sakura as Mei Hatsume, Chisa Suganuma as Shino Sousaki (Mandalay), Meiko Kawasaki as Ragdoll, Shinnosuke Ogami as Tora, Serina Machiyama as Pixie-Bob, and Michiru Yamazaki as Kouta Izumi.

For the seventh season, the character of Star and Strip will be played by Romi Park.

Originally starting back in the summer of 2014, after creator Kouhei Horikoshi Barrage series ended, My Hero Academia is one of the more well-received books in the English edition of Weekly Shonen Jump.

Horikoshi received a Tezuka Award Honorable Mention in 2006 after publishing several short stories in Akamaru Jump. His first serialized work was Oumagadoki Doubutsuen back in 2010.

Plot Concept: It’s an exciting age of heroes, where most people develop supernatural abilities known as Quirks. Bright-eyed kids like Izuku Midoriya—Deku for short—dream of the day they become champions of the people. There’s just one little problem standing in Deku’s way. In a world full of heroes, he’s Quirkless. Crushed, but not down for the count, this superhero-fanboy dedicates his time to studying the pros in hopes that he, too, can join a prestigious high school for heroes. In the face of despair, Deku’s courage catches the eye of his ultimate idol, the symbol of justice known as All Might! With special training from the big guy himself, Deku and the talented first-years of the academy may finally have a shot at achieving their dreams. But these amateurs are put to the test of a lifetime when routine training becomes a battle against real villains!
