‘Baban Baban Ban’ Anime Debuts Latest Trailer Featuring BLUE ENCOUNT

The manga series Baban Baban Ban from Hiromasa Okujima is getting some pretty strong attention coming in 2025 with both a live-action film and a TV anime series being announced. Set for a January 2025 debut, we got a lot of details earlier this year after its announcement in February 2024. With Netflix handling the streaming, the series has a  January 11th, 2025 premiere for broadcast in Japan.

The latest update for the property has come in with a new trail from the show that highlights the opening theme song “Blood Liar” performed by BLUE ENCOUNT.

The show has Itsuro Kawasaki directing it from the scripts that they’re working on. Takahiro Tamano is the assistant director while Yukiko Ban is handling the character designs with GAINA on the animation production.

The Japanese cast includes:

  • Daisuke Namikawa as Ranmaru Mori
  • Yūsuke Kobayashi as Rihito Tatsuno
  • Mayuko Kazama as Aoi Shinozuka
  • Taku Yashiro as Ken Shinozuka
  • Katsuyuki Konishi as Umetaro Sakamoto
  • Akira Sekine as Kaori Yamaba
  • Yuichi Nakamura as Nagayoshi Mori

The original manga from Hiromasa Okujima began in 2021 as serialized in Bessatsu Shonen Champion where it’s about to have its seventh volume published in March 2024. It’s not currently available in English though Okujima’s previous work Bad Boys, Happy Home is available through Viz Media.

Plot Concept: The story focuses on a 450-year-old vampire named Ranmaru, working part-time at an old public bath. He desires the blood of an 18-year-old virgin, and so watches over the growth of 15-year-old Rihito, the son of the bathhouse owners, and tries to prevent him from losing his virginity.
