With a few anime seasons behind it in the 2000s, a fifth season of Gag Manga Biyori is in the works for the spring 2025 season. The new season has Akitaro Daichi directing it once again under the name Masuda Kōsuke Gekijō Gag Manga Biyori GO.
The Japanese cast includes:

- Takeshi Maeda as Kumakichi, Sora Kawai, Prince Shōtoku
- Eiji Takemoto as Imoko Omono
- Masahito Yabe
