A new anime adaptation is in our future with the light novel series Even Given the Worthless “Appraiser” Class, I’m Actually the Strongest announced. The project was announced for a January 2025 debut back in June and has now dropped a new update.

The production has now brought out three more characters cast for the series along with the new teaser promo for the project as well as a key visual.

The Japanese cast includes:

  • Hikaru Tohno as Yūri
  • Kikunosuke Toya as Ein
  • Sayumi Suzushiro as Ursula
  • Yū Serizawa as Pina

The newly added cast includes:

  • Minami Tsuda as Kurohime
  • Kana Ichinose as Alice
  • Aimi as Akabane

The light novel series is known originally as Fuguushoku [Kanteishi] ga Jitsu wa Saikyou Datta – Naraku de Kitaeta Saikyou no [Shingan] de Musou Suru and comes from author Ibarakino. It has a manga adaptation by Morohoshi Fuji as well. Kodansha Comics releases the manga in English.

Plot Concept: In a fantasy world where “jobs” are god-given from birth, heroes are born, not made…and Ein’s job of “Appraiser” has put him about as far from the “hero” pedestal as possible. Used, abused, and eventually abandoned by his fellow adventurers, Ein decides it just isn’t worth going on… Lucky for Ein, though, the end may just be the beginning…and a new lease on life. Turns out, his “worthless” job may just be the key to becoming a hero after all…
