One of the more anticipated announcements came from Crunchyroll back in July 2022 in that the Solo Leveling manhwa is getting an anime adaptation. The winter 2024 series wrapped up its run back in March 2024 and that came with the news that we’re getting a second season with the subtitle of Arise from the Shadow. No timeline was revealed on when to expect it and it’s pretty much a given that it’ll be the same staff and cast. Crunchyroll confirmed their pickup of the second season as well and released a subtitled version of the new teaser announcement alongside it.
The series is getting closer now that it was revealed to be making its debut in January 2025 at Aniplex Online Fest and they dropped a new key visual for it as well. The first season is getting a compilation film that arrives on November 29th, 2024 as Solo Leveling -ReAwakening- and dropped a trailer for that too.

The anime adaptation is being directed by Shunsuke Nakashige with Noboru Kimura as the head writer. Tomoko Sudo is handling the character designs with A-1 Pictures on board for the animation production.
The Japanese cast includes Taito Ban as Sung Jinwoo/Shun Mizushino, Reina Ueda as Cha Hae-In/Shizuku Kosaka, Hiroki Touchi as Baek Yoonho/Taiga Shirakawa, Genta Nakamura as Yoo Jinho/Kenta Morohishi, Daisuke Hirakawa as Choi Jong-In/Shin Mogami, Banjou Ginga as Go Gunhee/Kiyoomi Gotō, Makoto Furukawa as Woo Jinchui/Akira Inukai, and Haruna Mikawa as Aoi Mizushino.
The opening theme song is “Level” as performed by South Korean pop band TOMORROW X TOGETHER.

ot Concept: It’s been over a decade since the sudden appearance of the “gates”—the paths that connect our world with a different dimension. Since then, certain humans have awakened to supernatural powers. We call these individuals “hunters.” Hunters make their living by using their powers to conquer dungeons inside the gates. In this world of tough customers, the low-ranked hunter Jinwoo Sung is known as “the weakest hunter of all mankind.” One day, Jinwoo gets fatally injured when he runs into high-rank double dungeons hidden within a low-rank dungeon. Just then, a mysterious quest window appears in front of him. On the verge of death, Jinwoo decides to accept the quest and starts leveling up… while the others aren’t.
