Prime Video has found another film to be part of its worldwide plans, excluding Germany, with their pickup of the rights to The Assessment. Producers Stephen Woolley and Elizabeth Karlsen from Living and Carol outfit Number 9 films said: “We’ve developed this project for over eight years, and for much of that time with the immensely talented Fleur Fortuné attached. So we are very grateful for our producing partners and financiers ShivHans, Tiki Tane, Project Infinity, and Augenschein for taking the final, and most crucial part of the journey with us. We are equally excited to work with Prime Video on the film’s release internationally outside of the US and Germany, and we look forward with anticipation to the premiere event at the Toronto International Film Festival, to introduce this wonderful movie to the world.”
The announced cast includes:
- Alicia Vikander
- Elizabeth Olsen
- Himesh Patel
- Minnie Driver
- Indira Varma
- Nicholas Pinnock
- Charlotte Ritchie
- Leah Harvey
Plot Concept: Set in a near future where parenthood is strictly controlled, the film charts a couple’s seven-day assessment for the right to have a child. The ordeal unravels into a psychological nightmare, forcing them to question the foundations of their society and what it means to be human.
