The second season of Star Trek: Discovery was big for me with the smart addition of Anson Mount as Captain Christopher Pike. The character in the original series was one that as a kid really intrigued me but also freaked me out with the story that we got about his career. With a May 5th, 2022 premiere set for the first season of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, the show got a second season that saw a June 15th, 2023 premiere and got a lot of attention
The show had a third season set early on because of the lead-time needed due to the special effects and it’s set for a 2025 release because of the delays from the strikes throughout 2023. To help ensure there’s not much of a gap after that season, we learned in April 2024 that Strange New Worlds was renewed for a fourth season as well.
This weekend, the third season didn’t get a date but things are coming together for it as a new clip was revealed from it that definitely shows some of the lighter side of Trek within.
The cast includes:
- Anson Mount as Christopher Pike: Captain of the USS Enterprise
- Rebecca Romijn as Una Chin-Riley / Number One: First officer of the Enterprise and second-in-command to Pike
- Ethan Peck as Spock: Science officer aboard the Enterprise
- Babs Olusanmokun as Dr. M’Benga
- Christina Chong as La’An Noonien-Singh
- Celia Rose Gooding as Cadet Nyota Uhura
- Jess Bush as Nurse Christine Chapel
- Melissa Navia as Lieutenant Erica Ortegas
- Bruce Horak as Hemmer
Plot Concept: STAR TREK: STRANGE NEW WORLDS is based on the years Captain Christopher Pike manned the helm of the U.S.S. Enterprise. The series will feature fan favorites from season two of STAR TREK: DISCOVERY: Anson Mount as Captain Christopher Pike, Rebecca Romijn as Number One and Ethan Peck as Science Officer Spock. The series will follow Captain Pike, Science Officer Spock and Number One in the years before Captain Kirk boarded the U.S.S. Enterprise, as they explore new worlds around the galaxy.
