
It’s been over thirty years since the Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water anime first debuted and we originally saw a limited release through Streamline Pictures back in the day then ADV Films acquired it, where they released a “fansub” version of it as well. It saw a full high-definition Blu-ray release almost a decade ago from Sentai Filmworks as well.
Just over a year ago, GKIDS announced their pickup of the series with plans for a home video release based on the new 4K restoration done recently in Japan. With a home video release in August 2022, the show revealed some new distribution as Cinedigm back in April confirmed their acquisition of the streaming rights for it.
The latest update on the show is that it recently got added to the AsianCrush service in its English dubbed form for free streaming here.

Plot Concept: In 1889 the world is on the pinnacle of great technical discoveries, however its the secrets of the past that hold the most value. When young circus acrobat Nadia is pursued by thieves Grandis, she runs into young inventor Jean Ratlique, together they escape the thieving trio and after a series of misadventures end up crossing paths with Captain Nemo and his submarine Nautilus. Nadia and Jean soon discover that they must join with Nemo to fight against the Neo-Atlantean forces that threaten the world, and discover Nadia’s true history and the secret of Blue Water.
