First Volume Spotlight: ‘Utsuranain desu’ Manga By Ruka Konoshima

1 min read

We learned recently about a new manga series that was getting ready to launch with the announcement of the Utsuranain desu property from Ruka Konoshima. The series, which loosely translates as The Ghost Doesn’t Show Up, debuted in the March 27th, 2024 installment of Weekly Shounen Sunday marked as 18/2024. A one-shot was produced in 2023 for it.

Now, the first volume has been scheduled for an August 17th, 2024 release and the cover artwork for it has also debuted to the right. It has not (yet) seen an English language pickup.

Konoshima has had two other one-shots previously in 2022 with Sora wo Wataru Ikimono and Ringoame.

Weekly Shōnen Sunday is a weekly shōnen manga magazine published in Japan by Shogakukan since March 1959. Contrary to its title, Weekly Shōnen Sunday issues are released on Wednesdays.

Plot Concept: Makoto Kurokiri is drawn in by something that mustn’t be seen… Thus, his daily life of dabbling in the occult begins to move forward in this original tale of boy meets girl!
