
A new TV anime adaptation arrived with the Shy series getting the nod back in October 2022. With the series underway with an October 2nd, 2023 premiere, the home video release information has arrived. The twelve-episode season is getting done as three limited edition Blu-ray releases that are priced at 8,500 yen each.
We’ve had the full cover spread for the series for a bit now but we’re also now starting to fill in the packaging pieces with the third set below now added. Check out the full schedule and known details so far below.
Masaomi Ando is directing it from the scripts overseen and written by Yasuhiro Nakanishi. Yuichi Tanaka is handling the character designs and 8-Bit is handling the production.
The Japanese cast includes Shino Shimoji as Shy/Teru Momijiyama, Nao Tōyama as Iko Koishikawa, Tomokazu Sugita as Ebio, Mamiko Noto as Spirit, Shinichiro Miki as Stardust, Sayumi Suzushiro as Lady Black, Ayumu Murase as Mian Long, Kikuko Inoue as Unilord, Mutsumi Tamura as Stigma, Miyuki Sawashiro as Tzveta, and Rina Hidaka as Keheheh.
The opening song was also revealed with “Shiny Girl” from MindaRyn.
The manga comes from creator Miki Bukimi and began in 2019 as serialized in Shuukan Shounen Champion for Akita Shoten. It has sixteen volumes out as of the original announcement and is ongoing in Japan. Yen Press is releasing it in English.
