With some good sales in the trade formats for awhile now, it looks like Peter Hogan's coming series Resident Alien is stepping to the live-action side of things.

With some good sales in the trade formats for a while now, Peter Hogan’s comic series Resident Alien made the leap to the live-action side of things back in 2021 and it saw a second season arrive in 2022 with a third season renewal quickly following. The third season saw a February 15th, 2024 release and what helped it was that Netflix brought on the first two seasons to the service which got people to binge that and check out the new episodes.

The season saw a 4% increase in viewership which definitely helped and it’s gotten a fourth-season renewal. That renewal has it moving from Syfy to USA Network where it should get a much wider audience.

Syfy brought the series previously with Alan Tudyk in the leading role. Other series regulars so far include Sara Tomko (Once Upon A Time), Corey Reynolds (The Closer), Alice Wetterlund (People of Earth), and Levi Fiehler (Mars).

Plot Concept: Based on the Dark Horse comic, Syfy’s Resident Alien is a murder mystery sci-fi dramedy that follows Harry, an alien played by Alan Tudyk (Rogue One, Firefly) that crash lands on Earth and passes himself off as a small-town human doctor. Arriving with a secret mission to kill all humans, Harry starts off living a simple life… but things get a bit rocky when he’s roped into solving a local murder and realizes he needs to assimilate into his new world. As he does so, he begins to wrestle with the moral dilemma of his mission and asking the big life questions like: “Are human beings worth saving?” and “Why do they fold their pizza before eating it?” Sara Tomko (Once Upon A Time), Corey Reynolds (The Closer), Alice Wetterlund (Silicon Valley) and Levi Fiehler (Mars) also star as the residents of Patience, Colorado.
