As we’ve said over the years – you can never have enough Yuruyuri. Sadly, the last we got to talk about this was back in 2019 for the ten-year anniversary and the OVA that was released for it. We learned this summer that the spinoff manga from it with Omure-ke is getting an anime adaptation that’s set for two “mid-length” films of forty minutes each.
While we knew the films are set for 2024, the first part saw a February 2nd, 2024 release. The home video release for it from Bandai Namco Film Works has been set with a May 29th, 2024 release date on Blu-ray as a limited edition set. It’ll be priced at 7,800 yen and come with promos and a digest along with a original drama CD that includes cast talks.
With the set out and having the main cover artwork previously,we now have a look at the full packaging spread for the set below.
Naoyuki Tatsuwa is directing it from the screenplay by Masahiro Yokotani. Kazuyuki Ueda is working on the character designs with Passione and Studio Lings working on the animation production.
The Japanese cast includes Chiwa Saito as Nadeshiko Ōmuro, Emiri Katō as Sakurako Ōmuro, Rina Hidaka as Hanako Ōmuro, Reo Kurachi as Kokoro Ogawa, Ayasa Ito as Mirai Soma, Aoi Koga as Misaki Takasaki, Suzuko Mimori as Himawari Furutani, Sumire Uesaka as Megumi Sonokawa, Nao Toyama as Ai Miwa, and Aoi Yuki as Miho Yaeno.
The Omure-ke manga began in 2012 as serialized in Comic Yuri Hime magazine for Ichijinsha with six volumes released in Japan so far.
Plot Concept: Right after starting middle school, Akari Akaza joins the Amusement Club which is composed solely of her two childhood friends, Kyouko Toshinou and Yui Funami. Chinatsu Yoshikawa, Akaza’s classmate, becomes a member after finding out about the dissolution of the Tea Club.
The Amusement Club, situated at the tea room facility since the Tea Club disbanded, has no clear purpose, being free for the girls to do whatever they want.
