Last fall saw a domain name registered for the Katsute Mahou Shoujo to Aku wa Tekitai Shite Ita manga and then an announcement not long after. The series will be directed by Akiyo Ohashi from the scripts by Yuniko Ayana. Haruko Iizuka is handling the character designs with studio BONES handling the animation production.
With the series set for a July 9th, 2024 premiere date, the official site has updated on something important about it as it’ll broadcast in a 15-minute slot when it debuts. That’ll include commercials as well in that block so it’s likely to be a 12-minute show or so per episode. It looks like the first two episodes are being streamed together as well.

The Japanese cast includes:

- Yūki Ono as Mira
- Shinichirō Miki as the Cat Familiar

- Kenichi Suzumura as Fomalhaut
- Ayako Kawasumi as Bellatrix
- Hiro Shimono as Alcyone
- Nao Tōyama as Spica
- Takumi Yamazaki as Sadalsudh
- Takaya Hashi as Betelgeuse
The work comes from creator Fujiwara Cocoa but was never completed due to their passing away. It would not be the first time that an incomplete manga saw an anime adaptation under similar circumstances. And Fujiawara had a few popular works that reliably pleased fans. The manga, which translates as The Day To Day Life of Magical Girl and The Right Hand-Man of an Evil Empire, began in 2013 and had twenty chapters out before their passing with three volumes released in total. It was serialized in Gangan Joker for Square Enix and was not released in English by anyone.

Plot Concept: The story centers on the unlikely romance between Mira, an official in an evil organization hell-bent on world domination, and Byakuya Mimori, a magical girl who sets out to thwart them.
