The anime adaptation of the manwha Surgeon Elise, which is also known as Doctor Elise, arrived as part of the winter 2024 season. Kadokawa is handling the home video releases for it in Japan and they’ve set a four-volume release for the twelve-episode series. The DVDs are priced at 8,000 yen each while the Blu-rays are priced at 9,000 yen each.

The anime adaptation has Kumiko Habara directing it from the series composition by Deko Akao. Yuko Watanabe is on board for the character designs with Maho Film handling the animation production.
The Japanese cast includes Yōhei Azakami as Linden de Romanoff, Yui Ishikawa as Aoi Takamoto/Elise de Clorance, Daisuke Ono as Lenne de Clorance, Hiro Shimono as Chris de Clorance, Kazuhiko Inoue as Minchester de Romanoff, Megumi Han as Yulian de Childe, Satoshi Hino as Ron, Sōma Saitō as Michael de Romanoff, and Yoshimasa Hosoya as Graham de Fallon.
Yui Ishikawa is performing in character as Elise in the opening sequence with “believer” while Maju Arai is handling the ending theme song with “Listen.”
The property began in 2017 by yuin and mini and through release in Japan with Kadokawa has eight volumes out as of March 2023. The original work ran for ten volumes total before wrapping up in 2021.

Plot Concept: The story follows Aoi Takamoto, who was once an evil empress named Elise before being executed by her husband Linden. When Elise is reincarnated into the modern world as Aoi, she becomes a surgeon to atone for her mistakes. However, after she dies in a plane crash, she is once again reincarnated back into her former life as Elise, 10 years before her execution. She avoids marrying Linden this time around to prevent a tragedy. With her medical knowledge, she decides she wants to become a doctor again in this life.
