Flying Dog Reveals 1st ‘The Brave Police J-Decker’ Blu-ray Anime Box Set Packaging

Flying Dog is digging into an older show for release that will definitely please some fans with the Brave Police J-Decker property. The 48-episode series is being done as two Blu-ray box sets of 24 episodes each priced at 31,000 yen per set. It’ll be on Blu-ray only with the sets arriving on July 24th, 2024, and October 23rd, 2024 respectively. Check out the known details below along with artwork and a restoration comparison.

With the first set coming up at the end of next month we now have a look at the full packaging spread for it below.

The 1994 TV series was directed by Shinji Takamatsu from the series composition by Hiroyuki Kawasaki. Atsuko Ishida handled the character designs with Sunrise on the animation production.

The Japanese cast includes Hiromi Ishikawa as Yuta Tomonaga, Tohru Furusawa as Deckerd/J-Decker, Etsuko Ishikawa as Seia Onoue, Fumihiko Tachiki as Shadowmaru, Hiro Yuuki as Drill Boy, Michiko Neya as Azuki Tomonaga, Mitsuaki Hoshino as Dumpson, Naoki Makishima as Gunmax, Naoko Ishii as Amami Tomonaga, Ryōtarō Okiayu as MacLane, Ryūzaburō Ōtomo as Jûzô Saejima, Takumi Yamazaki as Power Joe, Toshiyuki Morikawa as Duke, and Yūko Miyamura as Regina Argine.

Plot Concept: In the 21st century of the near future, in order to combat violent crimes, the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department establishes a special investigative division known as “Brave Police” made up of robots with “Super AI” artificial brains capable of independent thought. And after a boy named Yuta gives his heart to a robot in development named Deckerd, he is made a captain to lead the Brave Police. Now Yuta and the seven robot Brave Police will stand up against the onslaught of crime.
