The Gunbuster 2 OVA series saw some new attention as the folks at Bandai Namco Arts previously scheduled a new standard edition Blu-ray release for it, which I think is close to ten years after it last saw a home video release. The new set saw a February 24th, 2023 release where it’ll be priced at 9,800 yen.
Now, UK distributor Anime Limited has announced their pickup of the show for a new release in the region. No dates or details were released about it other than it coming to Blu-ray there.
Plot concept: In the future where space monsters invade the Sol System, a young girl named Nono has left her home behind, to come alone to the big city. She has a grand dream of becoming a space pilot. But the reality is harsh, and she instead spends her days working at the diner near the spaceport. Her life changes the day she meets a real-life “Topless” pilot named Lal’C. Neither realizes that the future of humanity rests on both of them!
