Madman Schedules ‘I Got a Cheat Skill in Another World’ TV Anime Blu-ray Release

We learned in August 2022 that a new anime is in our future as the adaptation of the light novel series from Miku and illustrator Rein Kuwashima’s I Got a Cheat Skill in Another World was announced. We’ve had some details, visuals, and promos previously and now a new update has landed. The show was previously set for the spring 2023 season and it saw an April 6th, 2023 premiere scheduled for it.

Now, with the North American home video distribution set, Australian distributor Madman Entertainment has now scheduled their release. The Blu-ray-only release is now set for an August 7th, 2024 debut priced at $64.95 for the two-disc bilingual set. The extras included are:

  • Textless Opening and Ending Songs
  • Promo Videos
  • Web Previews

The show has Shin Itagaki as the chief director with Shingo Tanabe directing it from the scripts overseen by Itagaki. Hiromi Kimura is on the character designs with Millepensee handling the animation production for it.

The Japanese cast includes Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Yūya Tenjō, Akari Kitō as Kaori Hojō, Kaori Maeda as Lexia Von Arcelia, Sayaka Senbongi as Miu Midō, Ayana Taketatsu as Kaede Kazama, Shizuka Ishigami as Yukine Hyōdō, Mai Nakahara as Rin Kanzaki, Nobuhiko Okamoto as Ryō Igarashi, Ayumu Murase as Shingo Kurata, Ai Kakuma as Luna, Rina Hidaka as Yuty, Nao Tōyama as Night, Kazuhiko Inoue as Usagi, and Yuka Iguchi as Akatsuki.

The English dub has Shawn Gann directing it with Sara Ragsdale and Marcus Stimac on board assisting from scripts by Clayton Browning. The English cast includes Lee George as Yuuya, Kelsey Maher as Kaori, and Kelly Greenshield as Lexia.

Known originally as Isekai de Cheat Skill o Te ni Shita Ore wa, Genjitsu Sekai o mo Musōsuru, it began in 2018 as published by Fantasia Bunko and has ten volumes in print as of the announcement. Yen Press has picked up the light novels and manga adaptation for release in English.
