Discotek Media announced last yaer that they picked up a fresh license from the past that never saw an English release before with Futakoi back in October 2023. The series aired in the fall of 2004 from the manga of the same name and ran for thirteen episodes. Discotek Media is planning a 2024 release on Blu-ray that will be an upscale and include the clean theme songs and some music video material as extras. As it was never dubbed, this harem show will be in its original Japanese language with English subtitles only.
Back in January 2024, the distributor announced that they’ve also picked up “the good one” with Futakoi Alternative. It’ll be an upscale release on Blu-ray with new subtitles. That title was solicited this week for a July 30th, 2024 release priced at $39.95 where it’ll have the full thirteen-episode run in Japanese with English subtitles only. No extras are listed with the release but the cover artwork is available below.
With the solicitation now out, the distributor has dropped the clean opening sequence from their Blu-ray edition as well.
This season landed in 2005 as directed by Takayuki Hirao as the chief director while Matsuri Ouse is the series director.

The 2004 TV series was directed by Nobuo Tomizawa from the series composition by Tomoko Konparu from the original work by Hina Futaba and Mutsumi Sasaki. Mineko Ueda handled the character designs with Telecon Animation Film on the animation production.
