A new anime project is in the works from Toei Animation with Girls Bandy Cry announced at the end of April 2023. There weren’t a lot of details for it at the time but we’ve had some decent updates since then. We know that the series is being directed by Kazuo Sakai with Nari Teshima handling the character designs. Toei Animation is handling the production itself.
The series saw an April 5th, 2024 premiere date and now the production has brought out a third episode preview ahead of its April 19th, 2024 arrival.
The Japanese cast includes:
- Rina Uchiyama as Nina Iseri
- Yuri as Momoka Kawaragi
- Mirei as Subaru Awa
- Natsu as Tomo Ebizuka
- Sayuri as Rupa

Plot Concept: The main character drops out of high school in her second year, and aims at entering a university while working alone in Tokyo. A girl is betrayed by her friends and doesn’t know what to do. Another girl is abandoned by her parents, and tries to survive in the city by doing part-time jobs. This world lets us down all the time. Nothing goes as planned. But we want something that we can continue to like. We believe there’s a place where we belong. That’s why we sing.
