Fuji TV announced in March 2023 a new series that Crunchyroll made a streaming acquisition for with Metallic Rouge. Debuting with a January 2024 premiere, it has Yutaka Izubuchi as the chief director and handling the series composition while Motonobu Hori will be the main director. Toshihiro Kawamoto is handling the character designs with BONES handling the animation production.
With the show set making a January 10th, 2024 premiere date, GAGA is handling the Japanese distribution. They’ve opted for a Blu-ray box set that will arrive on August 2nd, 2024 priced at 22,000 yen for the thirteen-episode complete run. The set will come with the stage greetings, promos, clean theme songs, and a music clip with Japanese 5.1 audio.
The Japanese cast includes Yume Miyamoto as Rouge Redmaster, Tomoyo Kurosawa as Naomi Orthmann, Shunsuke Takeuchi as Jean Yunghart, Yu Shimamura as Sara Fitzgerald, Hiroyuki Yoshino as Jaron Fate, Yui Ogura as Jill Sturgeon, Kenjiro Tsuda as Afdal Bashal, Kazuyuki Okitsu as Eden Vallock, Atsushi Miyauchi as Ash Stahl, Chiaki Kobayashi as Noid 262, Hiroshi Yanaka as Puppeteer, Mariya Ise as Opera, Minami Tsuda as Ace/Alice Machias, Hiroki Yasumoto as Graufon Berg, Haruka Shiraishi as Cyan Bluestar, Yōko Hikasa as Eva Cristella, and Yoshimitsu Shimoyama as Roy Yunghart.
The English dub has Mike McFarland directing with Michelle Rojas as the assistant ADR director. The English cast includes Cassie Ewulu as Naomi Orthmann, Monica Flatley as Rouge Redstar, Brandi Price as Sarah Fitzgerald / Viola, Landon McDonald as Giallon Fate, Andy Mullins as Herman, and Chris Rager as Kevin.
Yu-ka performing “Rouge” for the opening theme and DAZBEE with “Scarlet” for the ending theme song.
Plot Concept: The tech-noir story takes place in a world where humans and androids coexist. It follows Rouge, an android girl, who is on a mission on Mars with her partner Naomi. The mission is to murder nine artificial humans who are hostile to the government.
