
Announced in June 2023, an anime adaptation of The Banished Former Hero Lives as He Pleases got the nod. With plans for an April 2024 debut revealed last year, the official production recently set an April 1st, 2024 premiere date. Now, Crunchyroll has confirmed its pickup of the show for the spring season with a same-day simulcast. No dubs are planned for it at this time. It’ll be available to viewers in North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East and CIS
With the third episode coming out on April 15th, 2024, the Japanese production has now brought out their first preview of it:
The anime adaptation has Kazuomi Koga as the director working from the series scripts by Yoshiki Okusa. Saori Hosoda is handling the character designs while Studio DEENxMarvy Jack is on board for the animation production.
The Japanese cast includes:

- Aimi as Mylene
- Megumi Han as Beatrice
- Mariya Ise as Akira

Shota Aoi will be performing the opening theme song “Evolve.”
The light novels from writer Shin Kozuki and illustrator Chocoan which began in 2018 and has five volumes out so far. Known originally as Dekisokonai to Yobareta Moto Eiyū wa, Jikka Kara Tsuihōsareta node Suki Katte ni Ikiru Koto ni Shita, a manga launched in 2019 that has seven volumes out with Karasumaru adapting the light novels.
