The manga series A Sign of Affection by Su Morishita this year made the leap to anime. The show saw a January 2024 broadcast debut and was pretty well-regarded as one of the better shows of the season. Known originally as Yubisaki to Renren, it began in 2019 as serialized in Dessert magazine for Kodansha with nine volumes out as of its July 2023 announcement and ten volumes now. Kodansha Comics releases it in English.

To try and capitalize on this, Kodansha Comics had previously set the first omnibus release that has the first three volumes of the series for an April 30th, 2024 release. That’s now been rescheduled to a May 14th, 2024 release date. The second set has a June 25th, 2024 release date.

Plot Concept: Yuki, who’s always been deaf, is used to communicating with sign language and her phone. But she’s not used to English, so when a tourist from overseas asks for directions, she nearly panics…until a handsome stranger steps in to help. His name is Itsuomi, and it turns out he’s a friend of a friend. A charismatic globetrotter, Itsuomi speaks three languages, but he’s never had a deaf friend. The two feel drawn to each other and plan a date on a romantic winter’s night, but Yuki’s friend is afraid that she might be setting herself up to get hurt. Could this be something real? Or will these feelings melt away with the snow?
