A new TV anime was announced with the My New Boss Is Goofy manga getting the nod back in May 2023. The announcement did not reveal a timeline on when to expect the show but we did get a promo, key visual, main staff, and the cast along with the official site and social at the time. The show saw an October 7th, 2023 premiere, and Aniplex Japan is handling the home video releases for it there. The twelve-episode series is getting a six-volume release in Japan where the DVDs are priced at 5,800 yen and the Blu-rays at 6,800 yen. All sets are listed as limited editions.

The series is directed by Noriyuki Abe from the scripts by Masahiro Yokotani. Takahiro Yasuda is handling the character designs with A-1 Pictures on the animation production.
The Japanese cast includes:
- Yuichiro Umehara as Yūsei Shirosaki
- Kōtarō Nishiyama as Kentarō Momose
- Tomokazu Sugita as Mitsuo Aoyama
- Jun Fukuyama as Aigo Kinjō
- Hiro Shimono as Hakutō
The theme song side was set with Fujifabric performing the opening theme song “Planeteria” while Lenny code fiction will perform the ending theme song “Hanataba.”
The manga from Dan Ichikawa began on Twitter originally but made the leap to serialization through Manga Cross in 2019. It has two volumes out so far in Japan and is not released in English.

Plot Concept: The story follows a 26-year-old office worker named Kentarō Momose. He recently changed jobs after his previous boss harassed him. He’s worried his new boss will also use power harassment to make his life miserable. Momose is trying to hide his anxious stomach when he first meets his new boss Yūsei Shirosaki, however, he’s surprised to find his new boss is such a natural airhead that he eliminates all of Momose’s anxiety.
